United Apart Scholarship
United Apart: Ethiopians and Eritreans is setting out to raise a scholarship fund. The goal is to raise $10,000 for a the scholarship fund, 50% of the scholarship fund with go to an Eritrean youth and 50% of the funds will go to an Ethiopian youth. Ideally, we want to give 10 separate scholarship grants in the amount of $1,000 per student–5 Ethiopian highs school seniors who are on their way to college and 5 Eritrean high school seniors who are on their way to college.
Once we meet a threshold of $1,000, an email will be sent out to both communities asking students or their parents to submit a scholarship grant request. The application will be intensive and require documentation to prove that the student has been accepted to a college or University. The application will also require a one page essay as to why the student is pursuing the scholarship and what he/she will do to help their respective communities upon graduating from college.
A panel of 4 Ethiopians and Eritreans will determine the winners of the scholarship. We cannot do this without the support of the community, please donate $10 or $100, or whatever amount you are willing to contribute. The money you invest in our youth will be reinvested a thousand fold as the young men and women go off to college and pursue a higher education.
Please click on the United Apart logo above to donate to the Scholarship fund. 100% of all proceeds will go towards the scholarship, not one cent will be earmarked for expenses. Thank you for your kindness.
United Apart: Ethiopians and Eritreans is group created with the cooperation of Ethiopians and Eritreans that is seeking to find ways where both communities can work with each other to overcome historical differences and find ways to find opportunities for both communities to thrive both in America and back home. The group is based on Facebook, where some of the most profound dialogue is taking place. Click on the logo below to be a part of the group.

Can you please explain to us why 50% goes to Ethiopians and 50% goes to Eritreans when it’s well known that Ethiopia has a population that is at least 10 times larger than Eritrea. I hope I’m not the only one who is disturbed when some Ethiopians act as if Ethiopia has the same geopolitical importance as Eritrea. You could literally fit Eritrea in Ethiopia 20 times. There are many talented Ethiopians who could use these kinds of scholarships and who come from backgrounds that have not gone out of their way to create a separate identity from Ethiopia so help them first if you want to help at all.
so the group is for eritreans and ethiopians why does it matter that the ethiopian population is larger or size of the land? this group is for eritreans and ethiopians so why would as an eritrean want to just make it for ethiopians? why cant my fellow country ppl have a chance to recieve the money? since the population in ethiopia is greater can we say that theres vmore rich ppl in ethiopia so 2 eritreans deserve it? come on you are so clueless and maybe you should donate only $5 so that ethiopian can get it? i wonder if that would make you feel better? or you can just donate to an ethiopian organization! everyone deserves an education not just the greater country or the population in that country!
yekenyeley!
E-mail me if you have scholarship.
I`m so happy for this point , and i`m really hope for the best future to Eritrean youth.
Am really happy for this point , and am really hope success for Eritran youth.
i don’t know how i stumbled upon this but this is one pathetic attempt to unify two countries that have pretty much gone on their own tracks. if you want to unify, then you should make a group that will include all immigrants or if you are that much focused on your own specific culture, then stick to ethiopia. eritirea is a former renegade province that doesn’t deserve the same footing as a country that as previously mentioned is twenty times smaller than ethio. i would be more responsive if i saw 50 percent ethio and 50 percent djibouti scholarship. i, as an ethiopian have more to gain from a healthy relationship with djiboutians than eritreans. their independence is their entire identity, LEAVE THEM ALONE and mind your business
